Fill Your Holidays with Joy, Not Spending
Posted On: November 8, 2017
With all the hustle and hype of the Holiday season, it’s easy to get caught up in the excitement and carried away in Holiday spending. Fear not, you can celebrate the most wonderful time of the year without sacrificing your wallet’s well being.
- Consider Heartfelt Gifts – Pricey gifts for all isn’t the best way to go about sharing gratitude during the holidays…Have you considered things that carry more meaning rather than price? Heartfelt creations and gifting your skills (cooking, woodworking, photography, etc.) can negate the financial impact while still delivering an emotional meaning.
- Carrying Christmas Over – This can work for all Holidays, but Christmas especially so: stockpile everything you didn’t use up during Christmas, for the next one. You more than likely already do this for your Holiday decorations; but consider also storing holiday wrapping paper, gift bags, and unwanted gifts (to regift next year). You can save decent sized dollar amounts just by utilizing some storage space.
- Making Your Home Holiday-Ready – In most cases, Holidays come hand-in-hand with the frightful weather (we’re not talking to you, Australia). There are plenty of tips and tricks for weathering the cold; bundling up your home to stay warm only requires a little determination and elbow grease.
- Sales! – This one is something of a given, but you’d be surprised at how often the simplest solution gets overlooked. Take advantage of sales this holiday season! Use sales exclusively if you can. Develop a list, check it twice, and then plan ahead for what day is the most optimal for you to purchase based on sales like Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Small Business Saturday, Green Monday, Free Shipping Day, and general Holiday sales.
